SPECIES IDENTIFICATION SERVICES (SPID)

In most circumstances, DNA from any animal / plant origin will be retained till the end of a production chain as DNA is highly resistance to the thermal and chemical stresses in food processing. Through target specific DNA amplification, PCR amplify the trace amount of species- specific DNA sequence in food sample for more than 30 billion-fold. The presence of the amplification product indicates the presence of target species DNA in the food sample being investigated.

TFSL offers a wide range of testing services aimed at identifying animal species within food products. Using PCR based technology; we can accurately identify the presence of specific animal DNA such as pig, cow, sheep, chicken, goose, duck or fish. We can also provide a general identification of the presence of animal DNA should this be all that is required. Additionally, HAI KANG LIFE has developed identification systems for specific plant species - such as soy or maize, in a given sample. These qualitative services offer reliable results for the certification of a contaminant free product.
